First Visit

Your initial visit is a crucial step in the treatment planning process.  We will review your health history, perform an examination, and explain your diagnosis. Your consultation visit will conclude with a brief visit with one of our financial coordinators who will review the proposed treatment plan and associated fees, and schedule a convenient time for your surgery.

Please assist us by providing the following at your first visit:

  • Surgical Referral slip from your referring dentist/doctor.
  • Registration documents, if you completed them at home.
  • A clear, readable, diagnostic, and current panoramic X-ray only, if taken by your dentist.
  • A list of all medications you are presently taking.
  • Picture ID.
  • Your dental AND medical insurance cards.

IMPORTANT: Patients under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all appointments.

X-Rays

We follow a number of treatment standards which support a high quality of care and one of those is a surgical-quality x-ray, which we will take. The type of x-ray you need is determined by the surgeon and may include a surgical-quality panorex, 3D image or CT scan.  If possible, omit wearing earrings, lip rings, etc.  If your dentist has taken a panorex x-ray, you may request that they forward it to our office.

CT Scans

Our practice utilizes state-of-the-art, technology that provides highly accurate 3-D radiographic images for the diagnosis, planning and treatment of oral surgery. This technology provides, highly accurate 3-D radiographic images for the diagnosis, planning and treatment of orthodontics, implantology, TMJ analysis, oral and orthognathic surgery, and other dental procedures. Undistorted, anatomically correct views of the jaws, teeth and facial bones along with cross-sectional (bucco-lingual), axial, coronal, sagittal, cephalometric and panoramic views are easily generated. Three-dimensional images enable a level of anatomical accuracy and patient care not possible with 2-D technologies.
